a black leotard.
grasshopper?
a green leotard.
Scarecrow?
not so much.
For the scarecrow, I went to the 2ndhand store, bought a pair of XS junior overalls (only ones I could find), and a boys' plaid shirt, went to Michael's and bought raffia, cut off the pants legs to fit her, sleeves ditto, trimmed the raffia, put it on a strip of packing tape, sewed the tape to the inside of the pants hem, same with the cuffs, and sewed the cuffs back onto the sleeves, cut some squares of fabric, and sewed raffia on to them, and then sewed them onto the overalls.
I sat and watched a rehearsal yesterday for the first time. I hadn't b4 because of DD2, and because I knew I would want to take over. And the show? Probably a 6 to 10 minute show. Took me at least three times that long to get the costume ready.

You're the mom we all hate because you make us look like such a bunch of slackers. That costume is the cutest thing EVER, darn you!
Agree with Danielle. DD1 is lucky that her Mom is SO into drama that she would go to so much trouble for her costume! Break a leg!
